Pathway to Net Zero: Insights from Logan Workshop

Learning to Lead in Sustainable Manufacturing

Today, our team attended the “Achieving Net Zero” Workshop at the Kingston Butter Factory Cultural Precinct—hosted by the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water (DRDMW) and Logan City Council. This session focused on how businesses, especially in manufacturing, can reduce emissions and adopt sustainable practices in preparation for a lower-carbon future.

Expert Guidance from The Ecoefficiency Group

Penny Prasad and Jane Gaffel from The Ecoefficiency Group shared expert insights into:

  • Implementing practical sustainable manufacturing practices

  • Measuring and reducing carbon footprints

  • The financial and operational benefits of decarbonisation

  • Preparing for mandatory greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting

Their message was clear: sustainability isn't just good practice—it's a necessity.

Key Takeaways for B&C Plastics

Wendy Kent and Megan Hibbert attended on behalf of B&C and came away with actionable insights, from cost-saving energy strategies to tools that support emissions tracking. We’re excited to start applying what we’ve learned to improve our sustainability efforts even further.

A Supportive Local Business Environment

We’re proud to be based in Logan, a region where the local council actively supports and educates businesses. Special thanks to:

  • Holly Walton (Logan City Council) for organising and inviting us

  • Michele Cooper (DRDMW) for providing valuable tools, advice, and ongoing support

Workshops like these remind us why we’re passionate about continuous improvement—not only for our business but for the environment and our community.
