ecoBiz 2022 Forum: Building a Better Future Together

Last Friday, B&C Plastics had the honour of hosting the CCIQ ecoBiz 2022 Leaders Forum—a powerful gathering of like-minded individuals and businesses all striving toward one goal: reducing waste and making a positive impact on our planet.

A Shared Vision for Sustainability

The event brought together a dynamic group of eco-conscious leaders across Queensland who are passionate about sustainability. The energy in the room was undeniable as we shared ideas, progress, and plans to improve how we manage resources across industries.

It was a reminder of how much is already being done in Queensland—from active waste reduction efforts to pilot programs and testing for future solutions—and how important it is that we stay informed and keep the momentum going.

Voices of Impact

Among the standout speakers was our very own Royston Kent, sharing B&C Plastics’ journey so far and our ambitious sustainability goals for the future. We were also joined by Mark Taylor of Dulux, who gave valuable insight into the major steps Dulux is taking to keep paint containers out of landfill.

These discussions highlighted a clear message: whether you’re a large corporation or a small business, every step matters. Reducing waste, saving energy, and using water responsibly can collectively build a brighter and more sustainable future.

Tools for Action: The ASPIRE Platform

One of the key resources introduced at the Forum was the ASPIRE platform—a powerful digital tool that enables businesses to trade waste as a resource. By connecting organisations that have leftover materials with those that need them, ASPIRE empowers practical, real-world sustainability.

Holly Walton from Logan City Council passionately encouraged everyone to jump on board. The more businesses that use ASPIRE, the more effective it becomes. If you’re not already using the platform, now is the time to start.
