R U OK? Day — Building Trust, Gratitude, and Connection

Team celebrating r u ok

This year, we chose to celebrate R U OK? Day a little differently. On the day itself, we gathered over coffee, but with team members away on holidays and some under the weather, we waited until today so everyone could come together for a proper breakfast.

Over fruit, muffins, bacon and eggs, brownies, muesli, and juice, we spoke about the meaning of R U OK? Day — why it matters, and how trust is at the heart of those conversations. We all wore yellow (some more than others), and ended with an “All Yellow Raffle” where every team member picked a sunshine-coloured gift from the table.

Team highlights:

  • Raji proudly presented Adrian Santos with our Gratitude Award — recognising his care, willingness to help, and natural leadership.

  • Royston Kent presented Amila Palle Gedara with his 5-Year Service Medal. Amila’s wisdom, integrity, and commitment have been invaluable in shaping B&C.

For us, culture isn’t a slogan on a wall — it’s being there for each other, checking in, and creating space to connect as people. These celebrations of trust, gratitude, and service strengthen the togetherness that makes everything else possible.

At B&C, we include everyone, we show up for each other, and we believe asking “R U OK?” should never be limited to just one day a year.

Because when our people thrive, so does everything we create together.
