Our Transformation Is Underway
We've been a little quiet lately, but there's been a lot happening behind the scenes at B&C Plastics.
Over the past few months we've been creating, inventing, improving, moving and investing, while keeping business as usual running every day. That's probably been the biggest challenge of all.
Expanding across Units 5, 6 and 7 while continuing to manufacture, meet customer commitments and keep everything moving is a big job. We're still a work in progress, with plenty more to do, but here's where things are heading.
Unit 7: Manufacturing and production hub
Unit 7 is becoming our manufacturing and production hub. It brings together our injection moulding capability with state-of-the-art equipment, new machinery, robotics and automation.
Unit 6: Engineering and toolmaking
Unit 6 is home to our Engineering and Toolmaking Department. It supports the full journey from ideas and development through to tooling and machining, for runs from small batches to mass production.
Unit 5: Warehousing and recycling
Unit 5 is evolving to support our warehousing and recycling capability, including a purpose-built space to meet current and future demand. This unit marks a real step in our growth: our circular and recycling work now has a unit of its own, as a new business grows in its own right within the BC Group.
Better, not just bigger
It's a big move, or really lots of big moves. Machines, equipment, stock, people, processes and workflows are all being reconsidered and improved while the factory keeps running.
For us, growth isn't only about more space. It's about asking how we can do things better. That's our 1% better every day philosophy:
