Celebrating Women in Leadership and Manufacturing
This week, our B & C Plastics team had the opportunity to take part in two inspiring events celebrating International Women’s Day—each reinforcing the importance of connection, leadership, and supporting women across industries.
On Wednesday, Wendy Kent joined a panel of accomplished women at the Logan Chamber of Commerce International Women’s Day Breakfast, held at the Logan Diggers Club. Hosted by Arwen M., the event centred around the theme “Give to Gain,” sparking meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and a powerful reminder that when women support and uplift one another, the impact extends far beyond the individual.
The panel featured a diverse group of leaders, including Kate Wakeling (GAICD), Lindy Chen, and Jaeneen Cunningham, a Behavioural Finance Coach. Together, they shared insights and personal stories that highlighted the value of collaboration, resilience, and leadership in today’s business environment.
Today, Wendy Kent and Megan Hibbert attended the Women in Manufacturing International Women’s Day Breakfast—another engaging event focused on leadership, growth, and the increasing influence of women within the manufacturing sector. The morning brought together industry professionals to share experiences, exchange ideas, and celebrate the progress being made across the field.
Among the speakers was Professor Cori Stewart (FTSE) from the Manufacturing (ARM) Hub, who provided valuable insights into innovation, industry advancement, and the evolving role of women in manufacturing.
International Women’s Day, celebrated globally on March 8, is an opportunity to recognise the achievements of women while continuing to advocate for greater equality, opportunity, and representation. Events like these play a vital role in keeping that momentum going—encouraging open dialogue, building strong networks, and inspiring the next generation of women in business and industry.
At B & C Plastics, we’re proud to support and celebrate the contributions of women across our team and the broader manufacturing community.
