Turning Used Paint Pails into Purpose: Paintback Visits B&C Plastics

From Waste to Worth: Paintback Team Tours Our Circular Manufacturing Process

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Karen Gomez (CEO) and John Ferraro (General Manager) from Paintback to our B&C Plastics facility.

Paintback is an industry-led, independent not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the responsible disposal of paint and packaging across Australia. With a network of free drop-off locations nationwide, Paintback plays a crucial role in supporting a cleaner, more sustainable future.

A Closed Loop in Action

Karen and John visited to see firsthand how used paint pails—collected through Paintback’s national program—are processed and remanufactured right here at B&C Plastics.

We demonstrated our patented dry recycling method, which transforms these old pails into high-strength, multi-purpose buckets. These buckets are now available for purchase at Bunnings, showcasing not only circular design in action but also the power of Australian manufacturing to turn waste into value.

Designed for Strength and Purpose

A common misconception is that recycled plastic equals lower quality. At B&C, we’ve proven just the opposite. Our buckets have been engineered with durability in mind, providing consumers with a sustainable, tough, and reliable product—made from 100% post-consumer plastic.

A Shared Vision for Sustainability

It was fantastic to share our manufacturing process with the Paintback leadership team and align on our shared commitment to sustainability and innovation. Collaborations like these show what’s possible when industries work together to close the loop and reduce environmental impact.

We’re proud to be part of this partnership and excited to keep building a better, circular future—one recycled bucket at a time.
