From Waste to Opportunity: A Workshop That Delivered

B&C Plastics was proud to host the “Turn Your Trash into Treasure” Workshop at our Meadowbrook facility, bringing together forward-thinking manufacturers to explore how waste can be transformed into value.

Led by Industry Experts

Presented by Michael Eales of Business Models Inc, the workshop offered practical insights into how businesses can identify hidden opportunities within their existing by-products and waste streams.

Our CEO, Royston Kent, also shared B&C’s own journey in sustainable manufacturing — showcasing how we’ve integrated recycling into our operations and embraced innovation to convert waste into high-quality plastic components.

Actionable Strategies for Sustainable Manufacturing

The session focused on:

  • Reducing waste-related costs

  • Finding creative ways to repurpose by-products

  • Developing new revenue streams through circular thinking

  • Sharing real-world examples of businesses applying these strategies successfully

Participants left with not just ideas, but practical tools they could take back and begin applying immediately.

A Valuable Collaboration

We extend a sincere thank you to Sarah Osborne, Senior Project Officer at the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development, for organising such a high-impact and well-received event.

This workshop reinforced a simple truth: waste is not just a problem — it’s an opportunity.
