Building Trust at B&C Plastics with the IABC Model

Building Trust from the Inside Out: Exploring the IABC Framework at B&C Plastics

What does it really take to build trust—in leadership, in teams, and in business?

Earlier this year, Royston Kent and Wendy Kent had the opportunity to attend a Bond University taster session, organised by EO Queensland and led by Professor Justin Craig, Ph.D. The session introduced them to the IABC framework for trust:

  • Integrity – acting with honesty and strong moral principles

  • Ability – having the skills and competence to deliver

  • Benevolence – showing genuine care and goodwill

  • Consistency – being dependable and reliable over time

Bringing the Learning Home

Yesterday, Royston facilitated a session at B&C Plastics to share the IABC model with the wider team. Staff broke into small groups to unpack each pillar, discussing what each value meant both personally and professionally.

The session ended with a reflective challenge: rating ourselves on a scale of 1 to 7 in each area. The outcome? Honest conversations, powerful self-reflection, and a renewed focus on how we show up for each other—every day.

Trust as a Practice

This model reminded us that trust isn’t just a principle; it’s an ongoing practice. By regularly revisiting these four pillars, we can continue to strengthen the culture at B&C Plastics and lead with purpose.

Thank you to Royston for leading such a meaningful session—and shout out to the team for keeping warm in their new B&C hoodies!
